Do the 11th Annual Jefferson County Farm Tour on Bicycle
Join us September 14th and 15th at Farm Tour Central, the Chimacum Corner Farmstand, and cycle your way to 25 food and fiber farms between Port Townsend and Quilcene on the Olympic Peninsula. All farms will have educational exhibits, with many featuring tasting opportunities; a few will even have live music.
The farm tour is a benefit for the FIELD Intern Program of the WSU Jefferson County Agricultural extension, so your participation helps create future farmers. Both field camping and hotel options abound, and detailed trail maps are available.
Saturday afternoon and evening, there's a celebratory pig roast at Chimacum Corner Farmstand, headed up by Dan Ratigan, the master behind the culinary creations at the Port Ludlow Inn and Resort. Reserve your spot at the pig roast (including sides of slaw, salad and heaps of local vegetables) with an advance $15 ticket via Brown Paper Tickets.
You can reserve your Saturday night camping spot on the grounds of Chimicum Elementary school for $15 (showers and toilets provided), also via Brown Paper Tickets. Additional camping spots are available at various state parks in the region (Ft Worden, Ft. Flageler, Ft. Townsed), which can be found and booked here. Prices and availability vary according to location and accomodation.
Would you prefer a hotel, B & B or vacation rental? You're not alone! Find lots of lovely options in and around Port Townsend at Enjoy Port Townsend or PT Guide.
